Well, I have just received my Auzentech Forte soundcard.

Can anyone help me on how to install it in the mobo as I've never had a sound card before. My mobo is the Gigabyte EX58-UD5 and the whole rig is in my sig.

Any pictures/websites on installiation would be helpful.

Thanks

I installed it after having to remove the graphics card due to the wires being passed under. Also I had to use the PCIEx4 slot due to the PCIEx1 is obstructed by the Gigabyte block or w/e it is so the sound card doesn't fit there.

However I am unsure about the internal wiring.

I get the front audio which has to be connected to the sound card...

But what are AND_EXT and DID_EXT?

What needs to be done besides plugging in the pcie (x4) and connecting the front audio?

Thanks...

after I download and install the new drivers of the forte...

should I delete the drivers of the onboard sound or disable the onboard sound?

How to do so pls?

Thanks

just uninstall your onboard sound drivers(Realtek)
Then go into your bios and disable your onboard sound card

Then simply install the forte drivers.

I uninstalled the the realtek drivers,
I disabled the Azilia codec from the bios.

I installed the Forte drivers...

Let me just say that sound is awesome with this card... I've never heard anything like it... very good for music and movies. Haven't tried gaming yet.

Today along with the Auzen Forte, I also received my Sennheiser Hd 595 headphones. They sound amazing with the soundcard...

The only drawback so far is not being able to use just speakers when the headphone is connected to the headphone jack, but hopefully either with a future driver or with a headphone volume controller this can be solved.

I'm very pleased with the purchase and I suggest them to anyone who is looking for a soundcard or some headphones.

Only really heard of asus and creative making the best current soundcards. I'l defintely have a look at the Auzentech Forte when I decide to upgrade my Xifi card. How much did you purchase this particular card for?

OCUK used to stock them (up to 2 weeks ago) but they dont any more dunno why.

I purchased it for £113 without shipping.

Every review I read, it is compared to the Essence STX. STX is better for music, Forte is better for gaming.

I didnt purchase the STX since I have analog speakers. I could've purchased the ST with daughter board but that card is pci and I dont have pci free due to crossfire in future. So the Forte seemed the right choice. Very happy with the purchase.
