Installing Ubuntu on my Acer 3050 Laptop

It doesn't work

I first wanted to load the live cd, but it stops and tells me something about a non compatible chip...

I searched google abit, and i think this may be related to the sound card, or along the lines of. Apparently a common problem with my laptop series.


Any help ?

I did a bit of googling and found a lot of people have had problems with this laptop and ubuntu. From further reading it seems to do with the kernel version?!

Them tell them about it on Ubuntu forums.

If you don't tell them... they can't fix it.
