I've built a new rig and want to install W7 with the Upgrade version I purchased to upgrade from Vista. Am I able to do this, or will it not let me as Windows won't be able to find Vista in order to "upgrade" from it?.......and therefore, will I have to fork out for a full version of W7?

Many Thanks

You have several options:

1. install vista, then install w7 over the top (you can even format the partition from the w7 installer setup, there is no need to keep the old files.

2. Install the w7 upgrade disc without entering the key. then install it again over the top (detects current install so checks the reg flag allowing upgrade licence to activate)

3. Install without entering licence key, then change the reg flag manually and activate after. Instructions here. This is the easiest option by far!
