Installing Win7 RC on new build

Hi there,
I just finished building my new pc.

Anyway, I put in the Win7 disk, got to the install menu, put in the RAID drivers (im running RAID 0 and the MB disk came with drivers), and press install.

The installation goes through Step 1 ("Copying windows files") almost instantly, and then sits on step 2 ("Expanding windows files") at 0% indefinitely until it tells me that nothings happening and that it is going to cancel install.

Here is my build:

I dont have Vista and i doubt XP is going to let me copy the RAID drivers from my USB Flash Drive.
Ill try disabling RAID, but does anyone know what the problem could be?

What build are you using - I assume it is 64bit - crazy not to be!. Have you checked the checksums after downloading and after burning you did verify the burn?
As this is a virgin install it only takes aroung 20 mins or so to go on. you could try with out the raid.
Check the physical connections to HD etc

Thanks for the replies,
I am indeed using 64bit, and although i havnt done any checking, I did make another burn at 1x write speed.

Downloading the new drivers now, ill let you know how it turns out :)

Also, there are 2 types of port on my MB - SATA or GSATA. im using the SATA ports as they are the Ich10r (?) controlled ports. Would it be worth trying the GSATA ports?

Stick with the Intel ports, shouldn't be any problem with them. The GSATA ports are run off a JMicron chipset, and I don't know how good their drivers are (never bothered using them on my own Gigabyte board).

Hmm, still no luck.

I have tried:
1.)Latest Drivers
2.)Only using 1 RAM stick
3.)Checking connections
4.)Installing without any drivers
5.)talking very nicely to the machine

With all of the above, exactly the same thing happens. It goes through step one (copying windows files) in less than a second. Then it sits at 0% on expanding files indefinitely.
Somethings wrong there, surely it shouldnt go through the copying step so quickly?

Next thing to do is try without RAID, though I dont see the point as I want to use RAID eventually anyway.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help everyone, its working now :)

In the end I switched off RAID and reset the BIOS to the OCUK profile, then turned RAID back on again and it worked :)

Doesnt this MOBO support hardware RAID as well with the white SATA ports?

I am getting mine tomorrow and wanted to RAID0 2xSSD drives, would software on the Intel ports be better then the hardware RAID - or have i confused myself?

Umm, there are 2 ports you can RAID through,
SATA ports, and GSATA ports.

"Apparently" SATA ports are better, because they are controlled by Intel Drivers.
GSATA use some other method (JMicron?) and I dont think they need drivers.

From trawling google, seems that most people prefer the standard SATA ports but say the 2 are practically identical in terms of speed.

Both need drivers if running in AHCI/RAID mode (Vista/7 has native support, but you should update to the latest for reliability/performance reasons). Conversely, neither need drivers if running in IDE mode. Whichever solution you choose, neither is classed as 'hardware RAID'.
