From left to right white connector(4 pin powe connector didnt use that)
The small white one is a floppy drive type connector.
Oh and make sure the IDE drive is set to Master.
Yup, so the molex powers the HDD while the floppy powers the converter.
It's the 4 pins sticking out of the white connector on the converter. The PSU connection should look like this: http://www.cluboc.net/reviews/power/antec/TruepowerQuattro850/images/2floppy.jpg
No no no no no.
The molex-fan adaptor is for running a fan from a drive power connector, not "stuff" the other way round.
Plug the black end of that adaptor into a spare drive power connector. Plug the SATA lead into the middle port. Plug another drive power connector directly into the drive.
If you don't have enough drive power connectors then go buy a splitter.
I can't make it any more simple than that!
So you have it now set like this:
HDD, connected to converter, receiving power from molex.
Converter, connected to HDD and motherboard via SATA (IDE HDD= SATA) (I'm assuming it's this port... could be wrong), receiving power through floppy.
Floppy adapter is connected to the fan adapter, have you connected this to a molex connection? Otherwise how else would it get power from the PSU?![]()
I'm confused - does the drive show in the BIOS now? What make and model drive are you trying to connect?
I've always had issues connecting Western Digital IDE drives to some sort of adaptor, whether it being IDE > USB or IDE > SATA - I can't remember if they need to be set as Master, Cable Select, completely remove the jump or if they even work at all lol.
What is the complete make and model of your adaptor?
