hi guys,
need some advice, just tried to install windows 7 but it wont detect the controller my HDD is on, now i downloaded the drivers from the gigabyte website but the windows installer couldnt find any on the cd so i guess it didnt like them.

how can i get it to work?

i have a gigabyte GA-8AENXP-D motherboard

thanks in advance

Sounds like you just need to find the right drivers. Which controller is your HDD connected to and is it 32bit or 64bit Windows 7?

That,s weird...
I have so far installed or reinstalled W7 at least 10 times and one thing I absolutely love about this new Operating system is that It does absolutely everything on its own...(No F6 prerequisites, no complex manoeuvres etc) on a variety of motherboards including A8N, P5K Deluxe, GA78M, a HP550 Laptop etc...Maybe you just require a BIOS update;)

you may need to change to ide for the sata etc in the bios. that should solve your problem.

Win 7 can be a little odd in picking up controller drivers. I am suprised it doesnt pick the intel sata on your board though. Idealy it should work in sata and ahci mode.

For my Uli based machine (A8R-MVP) I needed the driver Floppy for win7 to see the raid array. Same file structure on a usb stick, it just wouldnt have it. Vista (SP1,2) however has its own built in uli raid driver, not sure why it didnt pass onto win7 :/
