Yes, some of us are still using ours. :-) Anyway, this may help someone at some point in the future.

I've installed the RC on two other 'old' machines, and the full release on my games box without any problems whatsoever. Win7 just worked right off the DVD. Very impressive!

But the chipsets on the Asrock seem to stump Win7(64). No networking until I downloaded & installed the 64 bit XP LAN drivers, and no sound until I installed the 64 bit XP Realtek package from...

The 32 bit versions might have worked, but I went straight for 64. Once the LAN driver was installed (& rebooted) I was automatically online straight away. Win7 then managed to find an updated LAN driver immediately, just to add insult to injury. "Oh yes, we knew all about that stuff, we just didn't bother putting it on the disk."

This stuff's pretty obvious in retrospect, but Win7 is usually so capable it's easy to get lulled into a false sense of security, and without instant net access things can be a pain in the neck.

Otherwise the install went ok though, and I'm cruising along quietly at 2GHz (whoo-hoo!) and getting a performance score of 4.9 thanks to the 8800GTS currently doing nothing in the machine but draw desktops very quickly.
