What is that code name you can type in on dos to get windows to instal, D:i386 somthing? (you guys told me about it a while ago

Basicaly everytime i try it says bad comand or file name when putting in D: setup.exe

Cant get this thing to just boot from cd so using floppy disk method cant even get it to get windows 98 on ther, how werid

it was working with my other xp disk but i lost cd key for it so using another and now wont work, yet the disk works on other pc's werid

If your Windows CD is in the drive and DOS has assigned it the drive letter D: then it is the correct command.

and wont even do windows 98
its a brand new p5kc mobo with a new q6600 but it worked earlier so must be somthing im doing wrong

Sounds like you don't have your system cofigured correctly if you can't boot from CD. Or the CD drive is faulty.

they did work tho with my other xp disk but got to installing it half way through asks for cd key and oh ***lost it. Now use different disk and wont have that.grrrrr

I can get xp to go on but my xp original disk only orignal no service pack so only recognises 128gb hdd, can I install this then put service pack 2 on and upgrade drive to full 500gb or not as I have already partitioned it?

Yes, with the correct software to repartition the hard drive. Even the inbuilt Windows Disk Management should be able to resize the partition.
