Got a neighbours PC here, complaining of the following problem:
http://www.scottjs.net/blue.JPG
After trying the usual, safe mode, last known good configuration and repair windows, I decided to just take the PC home and format it + reinstall.
It formatted fine (full format) and copied the setup files, it then rebooted, then at the point where the setup screen comes on to begin installation, it just stayed black.
I formatted the hard drive again and formatted the MBR. Same thing happens, but instead of the screen staying blank, I now get a new blue screen message saying:
'stop c000021a {fatal system error} the windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly'.
I'm not sure if the hard drive is a bit iffy or if it is something more serious.
The drive works fine as a slave in my PC.
