Hi,

After a fresh xp home installation my machine was running fine.

I then installed my printer - epson cx3200 printer and my adsl modem - bt voyager...

Thereafter my machine upon booting and after displaying the xp window hangs before it goes into window AND

when it gets into windows AVG does not load, I get a "language error" AND

Sometimes I get missing DLL file or system32 file error...

Whats happened? How do I rectify this error?

Please help

Thanks in advance...

I notice from your sig that you're rig is overclocked - are you positive that it's a stable overclock?

Download memtest86, burn it to a cd and run through the tests a couple of times. If there are any errors, your o/c is to blame.

Once you've done that, boot into windows, and run orthos for even longer (It varies person to person, but I go for 48 hours=stable)

These tools will heavily stress your pc and if any errors occur, your overclock is not stable.

Google the missing DLL errors, and see if there's any support fixes from Microsoft available.

If you keep getting them, then I would suggest doing a restore from the XP CD.

If that doesn't help, you'll need to reinstall it again. If your system files are playing up there's no point trying to get anything working on the PC as it will cause problem after problem the more stuff you install.

ok - start off with
Code:
chkdsk c: /r once that's done -
Code:
sfc /scannow
You'll need your xp install cd.

what does that do? scan and repair?

would I need to reinstall? is that the easiest option?
