Installing X25m tomorrow

I have read lots of info about AHCI, none of what I read seems conclusive in regard to wheather it should be used or not.

I'll be running the drive on W7 64bit with a fresh install.

Is it worth enabling AHCI? The computer is mainly used for AutoCAD / Music production / Web browsing.

If the drive does not have the latest firmware, do I add the drive under my current W7 install, update the firmware, then format and install from the DVD?

Is this all I need to consider before the install?

If you need to update the firmware, you need to boot from DOS, the firmware is provided as a bootable ISO you can burn to CD if needed.

Cheers Chilean, just finished the install win7 in less than 20 minutes, boot, opening programs and shutdown times are just silly
