Hello

I've got a 1.5TB Samsung F2 drive with a 40GB (NTFS Primary) partition I intended to put Xp on so I could on the odd occasion boot to Xp to use my scanner etc (which wont work on Win7
When I installed Xp to it I disconnected my other drives first but after it installed and restarted it wouldnt load up. Said something like OS couldnt be found.

What I am doing wrong?

If he installed XP when only one drive was connected, shouldn't it have created it's own boot sector?

Either way, boot into Windows 7 and use EasyBCD to add your XP installation to the Windows 7 Bootloader.

I actually reformated the xp install thinking id have to start again from scratch but now im trying to install it again its gets to installing the initial drivers etc then i get BSOD.

1. If he installed XP when only one drive was connected, shouldn't it have created it's own boot sector?

2. Either way, boot into Windows 7 and use EasyBCD to add your XP installation to the Windows 7 Bootloader.

1. The boot sector will be on the right drive, but the PC BIOS is probably still looking at the drive with Win7 on it for the boot sector, pressing F11 should give a boot menu (depending on the bios) and he shud just be able to slect the other drive.

2. Easier to use this method though. Boot your win7 drive with the new drive connected and use EasyBCD to add the xp installation image.
