Hmm. Ok, firstly are you using the thermal paste that came with the card? I am sure it does a job, but pretty much everyone here will tell you to use Arctic Silver 5 as the best solution (I never use anything else). OcUk do it, but because of the delivery charge you might be better off wondering down the high street and going into a hardware shop.

To remove the paste entirely should just be a matter of wiping away it while it's warm. That's always worked for me. Some people use a hair dryer and I am sure there are some other solutions. You'll have to ask around though.

Use IPA Isopropyl Alcohol and lint free wipes. And get some AS5. Its worth the effort.
