Instant Noodles

My missus loves noodles, she's always buying different types especially chilli one.

I've grown up on the Nissin Demae Ramen (like the sesame one) which I like and the Mama ones ain't too bad.
Mind you these noodles aren't good for your health though if you have it often! Good to have a quick snack or for reserves when you get the nibbles.

PS Don't go for the pot Nissin ones, they're awful compared to the packet ones (got some on offer whilst at the Chinese New year festival in Chinatown a few weeks back).

PPS Go to a chinese supermarkets such as in chinatown or a Hoo Hing, Wing Yip or See Woo, etc. You can buy a box worth of these noodles which work out cheaper although will be one flavour. :D

Quick question guys, what are the healthiest noodles to buy out there? I love noodles myself and i'm currently eating the ones from Costco which are chicken (sorry can't remember the name off top of my head) and they come in a box of 24 packs for like £5 or so. I'm basically adding some chilli flakes to as I love hot/spicy stuff but are these 'proper' ones any better?

I had some Kabuto noodles yesterday they where nice in a big tub but could have done with some meat in there, also got some Tiger Tiger - pad thai ones to try...nom nom nom

Shin Cup (Hot & Spicy) and Tiger Tiger (Hot & Sour) are my favs.

Sainsburys used to do a good chicken & chilli packet noodle quite cheap, but not any more. :(

Supernoodles are VILE!

Skeeter, I have tried every single one of those you posted.

It's wonderful living exactly across a chinese supermarket and then having another just down the road. :D

The second one in the first post are quite nice. I can get them in my local asian supermarket though for twenty something pence though.

Not a cheap price on Amazon.

Anyone tried any of these and if so did you like em?

Mi Goren is an asian staple, and they are bloomin gorgeous. Loaded with salt, but im assuming you don't care.

Best served with a sunny side upegg, thats then mixed into the finished noodles in a bowl (i.e. the picture on top).

IMO these are the best instant noodles in the world. They have different flavours but the packaging all looks the same, make sure you start with the original ones.

YUM YUM i want some

Costco sells noodles in boxes - these taste al-right (better than ASDA's or Tesco's imo), but nothing like real noodles of course. Cant remember exactly whta they cost, but certainly under £10.

thread resurrection!

I was talking to a customer at work today who said he was going to a Chinese supermarket ,he said he always goes to get his food because he buys the noodles and packed prawns and stuff.I mentioned that i use to buy the box's of prawn crackers you cook yourself. He offered to get me some while he was at the shop,he came in later that day with a box of the crackers but also this thing
no idea what the proper name is but it was Awesome and he said it was only like £1 and the box of crackers were about 60p it probably makes about 2 carry bags full of crackers

Best translation my wife comes up with is glass noodle beef soup.

For the record she's says there are far better ones one the market which aren't full of starch

Bought 8x of Shin Ramyun noodles today. Have not had any noodles, except cheap 50p pot ones from premium store, for ages. Do enjoy these ones tho so got 8 as its only in the town i can get em and mail order has delivery prices like 5 quid or somit so ends up £15 quid when you think your getting em cheap for £11 at one of the links above someone posted to a Asian store.

Bought some in one shop for 75p then went to the jacki whites market and they were 59p there was also plum wine there which i bought for my mum for her birthday today. I was tempted to get a boxed bottle of sake but i was unsure of it i.e any good regarding the brand so didn't buy it but meh I wish I did now just to try it. I'm hoping its nothing like the usual beer or wine and somit new tho im probably gona get disappointed and it tastes like normal wine or somit.

Edit - Ok i was bored and searched the noodles on utube and found this hottie with the shin noodles, ok she doesnt do it the way i like it but boy is she smoking hot. :)

You may laugh but the big supermarkets all do packets of chicken noodles for 11p and the seasoning for it extremely tasty, try a pack and see, quite impressed.

Jsmoke, get out get out now. :p

Seriously tho, them 11p noodles are terrible compared to proper ones. May visually look similar the noodles themselves but they aint.
