Instant thread notification links

Hi all

I'm wondering if anyone could answer this because it happens with a lot of forums I participate in. When I click the link in my inbox to go to the new post in any given thread, it sometimes takes me to a message that is pages back from where the new message is located. The email notification actually states the content of the new message, but the link takes me to something else. Why does it do this and how do I fix it?

I think it might take you to the last post that you would've seen in that thread when you last visited the forums, although don't quote me on that.

Go to whatever forum and in your control panel change the option to not view the last unread post when you next visit.

The trouble is, the previous emails I had notifying me of new replies did take me to the latest reply. It was later emails that started taking me back a few pages. It was the iPhone 4S thread so the emails were coming like the clappers earlier.
