My father was wondering if its possible to in any how get any NCB hes been driving 35 years and for 20 of those years has always been on my mothers insurance as a main driver so was just wondering if theirs anyway he can get any of the ncb?

Depends on the insurance company, if it's Direct Line, there's a good chance, but named drivers will generally not have any no claims available I believe.

my mother said something about the insurance company being general accident? but i think they merged with another company.

My mum hadn't been insured in her own name for quite a while and had lost all of her NCB and when she came to insuring her 1.25 fiesta at 40+ she was getting quotes of around £800, she's been driving 25 years. With 1yrs NCB it went down to £330 and 2yrs £250.

Not sure on insurance companies but our (well mums/dads) broker allowed my dad to sign over one set (of two) NCB into my mums name..
