hello

witch insurers can you have 2 people on and you both get no claims discounts?

also do you guys no any insurers that are good for vans. keep getting expencive quotes because ive only been driving a year and have no no-claims and only 27.

so was thinking about getting my girlfriends dad to insure the van with us both on it

thanks koooowweeee

The main driver can use the ncb with another company yes but named drivers are unfortunately limited to the original company.

that does not matter as long as its insured does it.......

Yes, of course it matters. For a start almost every insurer will require that the policyholder is the main driver. To pretend this is the case when it isn't is fraudeulent and could lead to a void policy. Those that do allow you to do this if you are honest about the circumstances will raise the premium to reflect the higher risk.

You are receiving high quotes because they consider you to be a risk. Pretending you wont drive it much and its Daddys van is in almost all cases fraud.

Buy a proper policy, or do not drive a van. It really is that simple.

your jumping to conclusions here. he drives the van as much as me as we work together. the van is mine but the insurance will just be in his name. if i pay for fully comp then whats the difference.

theres always one trying to be a do gooder.

a tleast im paying for the insurance and if i do hit someone then they will still get paid.

Just explain you have equal use to the insurance co and bite the bullet then, the sooner you get a bit of no claims the sooner you will start saving.

think thats what ill have to do just get the first year over and done with. 500 upfront and £157 a month is a bit steep tho

You have started at a good age though, 27 takes the sting out of it, couple years you will be laughing.

ye true.

my girlfriends little bro was 17 and is insurance was £3000 i did a quote on his car and it was £1500 lol but he is more at risk and did end up smashing it up. but was only because the car in front crashed. witch yes he should have been watching but was a accident

You are doing the right thing, fronting behind your dad might just end up in tears, thats all Fox was saying, better safe than sorry where insurance is concerned in my opinion.

Yeah the one with in that advert... with the guy who makes that joke about not cutting corners... and then they show him cutting a corner.. and then he says ''you know what I mean''.. and it's a major LAUGH OUT LOUD moment. You know the one?...

what i wanted to no was before it went off topic was what company is it were you both get NCD. so what fox said had nothing to do with it. as he would be insured on his car and i would be on his policy with my van. but some people like to jump to conclusions and not read the full post,
