Insurance question

I dunno I've seen one of these before with the Nürburgring sticker and it does say limited edition on them somewhere, but as the site says which I missed before it's all stock apart from the custom exhaust.

There is a VXR Nurburgring edition with a 1.6 turbo engine that has a dual exhaust as apposed to the center inverted triangle exhaust, but pretty sure the 1.4 SXi the OP is chatting about has just had the stuff bolted on and didn't leave the factory like that.

Hahaha.

Buy a different car op. One where you're not in any doubt about how to fill in the insurance form.

If you brought a car thats limited edition, nd it had a body kit nd different exhuast but this car the limited ediition has a body kit but the car i looked at has a different one so i dno if i should put it on the insurance but if i dont and i got pulled over could i get arrested evan if i made out i didnt no because the limited edition have body kits and so can u get arrested and lets say you dont and they look into it and they say its void what happens? am i allowed to drive it back home then update my insurance and add the stuff they said aint on the insurance?

and breath.

Good call, 35.500 Miles in a 2 year old small car. That's some going for a 1.4L engine. A lot of motorway thrashing. Never mind all the chav banter and obvious insurance fraud.

Also an illiterate attention seeker by the looks of it. ;)

Is insurance for young drivers always this high these days?

I passed my test and bought my first car in 2004 (a 1.2 Fiat Punto) and I certainly don't remember having to cough up 2-3k for insurance. That could be like £250 a month for insurance alone!

Yea it's fairly high nowadays. I bought a 1.2 Punto 2 and a half years ago and was being quoted £3.5k-£4k minimum. Luckily at the last minute I found LV who would do it for £2200. I needed to pay a £400 deposit and then £200 per month just for TPF+T. At the time I was on a Business admin apprenticeship earning and pittance and had not had help from the bank of mum and dad (if they had one!)

My first renewal came up and the price had dropped from £2.2k to £1.1k, very impressive I thought. My 2nd renewal came up and it had gone down to £660.

I then bought a 2.0i Sport mk3 mx-5 last week and unfortunately LV wouldn't insure but I switched over to Admiral and am paying £800/year for the privilege of an extremely fun car.

To OP, it looks like an aftermarket addition to me, I'd stay well clear of the car. You can get something so much better for the money and like I just said, I literally bought a top spec 07 mx-5 with a 2 litre petrol engine for £6k, it's only done 30k miles. It's a fantastic car and now when I look back I'm glad I didn't waste £5k on something like a 1.6 Leon or Focus as I think I would have been bitterly disappointed.

Save your money and wait for something decent, that Corsa looks like tack and it probably doesn't drive much better.

Edit: Sorry had stopped reading after first page, glad to see you changed your mind! Don't follow the crowd and buy boring naff stuff, that's the reason your insurance quotes are coming out as high. And I can assure you just because you can't afford anything bigger than a 1.4 doesn't mean it's going to be a "slug". My 1.2 Punto only had 60bhp but was surprisingly nippy and could definitely keep up with other cars even on the motorway. Sure, my mx-5 is a lot quicker but only when I'm taking it right up the revs, for normal driving changing below 3,000rpm there's very little difference in them acceleration wise.
