Insurance Questions

You certainly can insure a car that is not in your own name, if you have an insurable interest in the car.

I'm not talking about legally, I'm talking about the insurers conditions. I'm pretty sure Bell require you to be the RK before you can insure the car.

yep that they do, he would be better off building his no claims until he has five years and then changing cars when his policy runs out imo

It is to be registered and insured in my name even though, strictly speaking, it is being bought for my mum. I will however be using it more than 50% of the time so I guess there's nothing illegal about that decision.
