insurance writeoff value help required.

I requested the engineers report with regards to my old car (see below) the funny thing is I drove the car for 3 days after the accident and there did not seem to be any problems with the suspension or tracking.. also from the pics the 3rd party hit my wing infront of my front wheel.. so that should not have affected the suspension or tracking i would havve thought???

In the meantime my insurance cover is now cancelled, to get it reinstated I will have to get the car repaired and have a MOT test done and then send in the MOT certificate to get my insurance cover reinstated. The car is currently MOT-ed till March 10th 2010.. can I then get a new MOT now?

Yes you can - but obviously you'll need somebody with DOC or a trailer to get it to the MOT station.

Car has no MOT because it was wrote off.

Errr....

It has to have an inspection after being repaired to be put back on the road at cat d no? And the easiest valid way of doing that is a new MOT... I think.

Spoken to the DVLA, as it is a Cat-D write off I just need to get it repaired and re-MOTed.
Only for Cat-C you need a VIC also.
Now I just need to decide whether I should buy the car buy or not....
What would you guys recommend that I do?

update: I have brought the car back off the insurance company for the asking price of £650. The car now will be repaired and MOT-ed by another garage from £375. Hopefully this will be completed by saturday then I can send email or fax the MOT certificate and my insurance will be reinstated.

That's a billy bargain, a CAT D focus for a grand.

If it's not too late get them to take picures when they have knocked things back in shape before they put the bumper and wing back on.

I know you have to insure again, but your still quids in from the sound of it.

My insurance company will reinstate my insurance once i get a MOT cert to them. I am 95% i don't have to pay any more, its just a continuation of my current insurance policy which expires at the end of May.
I have already taken a few pics of the damage just after the accident. So will find out how well the repairs are on saturday.

By the way what do you mean by billy bargain?

fair enough about the insurance, i suppose you didn't claim on yours as such so there is no reason to cancel it i.e. you didn't cost them anything.

Billy bargain just means a bargain, you came out of this quids in.
