Integrating CMS into an existing website?

Any ideas as to a good CMS that I can integrate into an existing website?

Best to start from the ground up, either with a bespoke CMS, or off-the-shelf

As shady says, it would be easiest to start again with a new site. However, you can do this with Wordpress, but you'll need to be fairly skilled with PHP/XHTML/CSS, or be able to hire someone who is. The Wordpress site has some superb documentation that might be able to say whether it's right for what you want to do: http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Pages_in_a_Nutshell

Wordpress really will be a lot faster. You just chuck the loop in where your current text is and use pages.

Depends what you need exactly, I prefer to build my own CMS over WP but Im moving over to ExpressionEngine now as it looks much more powerful and more suited to waht I prefer

I've started to hear good things about Expression Engine. I'd be interested in your reasons for the switch and why you think it's more powerful?

I have just successfully integrated Coranto CMS into my work's website. Fairly easy to get your head around, and makes things far easier to update.

Never tried any other ones so don't know how it compares. It is free though which is always a bonus.
