Intel 11400 - a gem for gamers?

It'll be interesting to see if AMD brings out any new SKUs, or adjusts pricing, to cover this (and the 11600) off, there's not the margin to make it worthwhile I'd imagine but beating Intel *everywhere* would be good marketing/'mindshare'.

But with pre-orders outstanding on 5900X/5950X, and occasionally stock of the 5600X/5800X being a bit patchy, they might wait until that's all sorted before they chase the low end...
 
11400F currently at £150 makes this by far the best price performance CPU for gamers and leaves little reason to buy a 3600 now.

I understand now, its an F not a K

Interesting, the 3600 is slightly better at production but loses in virtually all gaming benches.
The 11400 seems to be the chip of choice for low end gaming.
Even the 11600 seems to be utterly overpriced for what it does not.

So low end
11400k wins against the 3600
then 5600x wins against the 11600k
then 5800x wins against the 11700k
and finally
5900x wins at high end against the 11900k

AMD had their stuff out well before Intel.
AMD might react to this, they might not, but you can't say they were overcharging when the other product didn't exist at the time.

The 10400F existed before and the 5600X was around 20% faster for double the price so clearly AMD were overcharging but maybe now they will have to have a rethink since that performance margin has been cut in half.

At the moment AMD can manage to keep the 5600X and 5800X in stock, i'm sure when they have more capacity they can release more budget friendly options but for now just look to Intel for budget chips.

Not sure why you're getting so emotional in trying to defend a company that's clearly overcharging customers for a product which should be no more than £200 and now has been shown up by the competition.

If anything Intel should be commended for bring a good product to market in the 11400F the same way that AMD were with the 3600 which outsold every other Intel CPU considerably because of the price to performance on offer.

They will have to react with something, let's just hope it's not a £200 quad core.
 
Intel are likely able to hold the value ground as their design is simple (14nm/single chip) rather than AMDs 7nm/chiplet and IO die which won't be as cheap to make and really works best for 2 chiplet or more CPUs.

It's good to have options.
