Hi there

I am building a pc soon for a mate and cant decide on a cooler for a new i7 13700K.
Pc will be in either a Corsair 4000 or Lian li Lancool 216. Its a gaming pc and I want it as quiet as possible.

I had decided on a Noctua NH-U12a but as my mate wants plenty of RGB (not my choice lol) I am now looking at AIO options. Trouble is, I hear that they are not as quiet and pumps can also be noisy.

So am i better of sticking with the Nocture or are there AIO that are quiet for around the £150 mark?

Cheers
Gwyn

I use a Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black.

I gave up with water coolers some time ago. They are noisy and unreliable, they also lose cooling ability over time. I mean, just me, I guess, but I prefer a simple cooler. You can always add some RGB strips if you want tons of RGB.

Thanks. The Noctua coolers really are great. How quiet is the U12A?

I saved a few quid, and went for the DeepCool AK620 air tower cooler. Its cooling a 5900X. Its not crazy loud under load, and handles the chip well.

I have a few DeepCool products, and the quality is defiantly there!

Noctua are great coolers but they cost twice as much (sometimes even more) than similar performing Thermalright (and other brands) coolers. My go to cooler are Thermalright. Their Peerless Assassin 120, Frost Spirit 140, Frost Commander 140, Phantom Spirit 120, Frost Tower 120, etc are all great twin tower coolers. Their Ultra 120EX Rev.4 and Venomous Plus have 6x 6mm heatpipes cooling within a couple degrees of bigger twin towers.

I would go with one of their twin tower coolers to cool i7 13700k.
