I think I'm gonna upgrade to the E8400, looks good if ya ask me, wonder if they will be much faster then the E6750/E6850. If it's not much faster I'll pass, good prices though, right?

Wouldnt you be better off just going Quad? I am gonna wait a bit for it all to settle down then think about upgrading.
 
The problem with the Q9450 is the low multi and high FSB, unless you're board is sure to hit high FSBs with quads the Q6600 could well be the better choice.

I'm debating whether to upgrade to quad or not. Will the 9450 work with my P5N SLI?

Yip from BIOS 1401 and later according to ASUS 45nm guide, although it doesn't differentiate between the dual-cores and the quad-cores.
 
This, I believe is from Anandtech's early evaluations. Sorry to go against a Don, but release evaluations may well be different. Sorry Jokester.
It's also from XS, the difference between current ES and retail chips will be less than negligible.
