but the crucial m 4 looks to be the better drive although the specs on the intel say that is if you read about it....is there another program to use incase i am using a old one to get the exact read and writes of this drive thanks

you might see more accurate results using atto benchmark,as for write speads they dont matter its the read speeds that matter most

ill give that a try...your probably correct on the write speeds but you still like to see it in the benchmarks to say its faster lol...looking at it its not much faster than my 510 if any...as i get lower marks on some of the tests ....ill go test its with that program now ...ill do a test from all 3 ssds i have and see what i get...but in the mega test thread they are getting far better speeds with the program i used ....except there is no screenshot for the 520 but the link is there ....wonder why.

Ok here are the benchmarks for the 3 drives...intel 510 120gb.....intel 520 120gb....crucial m4 128gb....

looks right to me

Intel! 510 Series solid state drives by Intel provide incrediblyfast read (450 MB/sec) and write (210 MB/sec) speeds, so your computer willoperate more smoothly than ever before

those are the specs and its around those

I have bought the intel 520 upgraded from the intal 510...but on the ssd mega test thread they are getting better results on as ssd and crystal mark than me...why is this...i am running mine on the intel 6gb controller...are there any drivers that i should install for this controller?

makesure your using the latest mb bios as it will contain the newest intel option rom for ahci/raid and use the latest intel rapid storage drivers, thats all you can do really, there will be slight variations from component to component

no still getting the message this computer does not meet the minimum requirements...lol dont know why as its intel chipset .

not sure what controller is on the ssd though marvel or sandforce idk if that has anything to do with rst install

yes but you would need to reinstall os,it should install in ahci mode, idk if rst supports marvell controlled ssd's

this is the controller on the ssd
Controller: SandForce SF-2281
it might be worth me installing the OS again....and enable ahci/raid....what do you think.

i think you wouldnt gain much in speed, plus you dont want the raid console/screen to pop up at the start up which adds to start up times,in ahci that doesnt happen

you should be able to install the rst drivers though in ahci mode im running them on an asus z68 board so idk why they arnt installing for you

all those read/write figures look ok to me
