I suspect marginal 1-5% performance upgrades again, so the only reason to upgrade is new features, like SATA-express or something else they decide to add.

More PCI-e lanes without PLX chip please on the Z97?

Agree, no point in upgrading for about 5% more performance. Unless Watchdogs needs an i7.. :) why spend £250 (i7) when you can spend £400 (i7, mobo, ram) etc..
