• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

intel conroe/allendale arguement

Could be, I suppose, but it's unlikely. I've just tried TAT and that works so perhaps I just need to refresh CoreTemp. I see it's gone up to 0.95 from 0.93 so I hope that fixes it.

TAT's all you need anyway, Tat doesnt run on 'all' motherboards, but if it runs on yours its generally considered the most accurate software for C2D.

Plenty of sites show the extra 2m cache makes very little difference unless your into encoding etc so for the average user the difference won't be there.

It makes the biggest, noticable, difference on all CPU-demanding tasks which have no bottleneck on peripheral I/O - that covers a lot of things, but perhaps not what the average user does. But still, any CPU core with 4M of cache will beat the same CPU with 2M of cache.

A ScienceMark 2 comparison would be better, but this will do :
