Just upgraded from an A64 system to a Core 2 system, I was just wondering if Intel chips prefer to have the FSB and memory running at the same speed, or if it's better to have memory running faster than the FSB.

Thanks.

Hi I have mine at 1:1 because i get better overclocks.
I think it may depend on the ram you have and how good it is.

Also i have turned down my volts on my Duo2.
Instead of the norm 1.2V for 1.86hz i have it at 1.05 at 2.4hz
Its a lot cooler having lower volts.

And i would use intel TAT to see the temp of the cpu

would i be right in thinking that stock volts for a E6750 is 1.35V cos thats what mine are at. But my Temps are way out lol they say 22C on a stock coolers that cant be right can it :p

CoreTemp will tell you the VID (default vcore) of your chip. It differs between chips.

And use the latest beta of CoreTemp to read your E6750 temps.

No real point running at anything higher than 1:1 unless you "play benchmarks".
You'll of course get a higher memory bandwidth benchmark but the CPU really wont make any use of it - so it'll be purely for show.

It's actually the other way around, I'm running my CPU at stock but have 800MHz RAM, was just wondering if running it at 667MHz to match the CPU's FSB would be better or not.

Also is 17 seconds in Super Pi about right for a 3GHz Core 2 at stock?
