Hey guys,
I'm contemplating to switch from my AMD Athlon 3200+ to a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.40Ghz chip.
I'll have to change my mobo obviously, but i was wondering if there are any good mobo's out there that support my 2 1Gb sticks of Corsair DDR400/PC3200 RAM, and my 256Mb Foxconn PCI-E ATI Radeon GFX card.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated, as I wana spend my 1st pay-cheque wisely! :)

ddr 400 with conroe

well u can use DDR memory with conroe, dont know if they are any good because they are aimed at the budget market

asrock hdtv 2.0

asrock775-dualvsta

also see this ddr with conroe test from Anandtech

anandtech conroe ddr test

which ends with

If you have a very limited budget and want to move to the Intel Core 2 Duo processor now, then rest assured that your DDR-400 memory is more than capable for a system like the one tested today.

I'll jump in and say I've got one for sale on MM. They are good boards. Limited overclocking, but seem reliable enough in the week or so I ran it. Both AGP and a PCI-E slot :)

OK - well, you could add one by posting in the product suggestions forum, and if you activated your trust people would be able to contact you directly.

I would also suggest you ask on the graphics card forum to check that the performance isn't as bad as the 4x PCie slot would suggest and in RAM to check that your RAM will work OK.

The General discussion forum is also a great place to ramp up your post count without actually spamming the forums becasue you can get into a nice old ding-dong in there. Something seemingly non-controversial can go on for ages as the wierdos and fanboys come out of the woodwork... ;)

lol nice advice there WJA thanks,

I've ordered the VSTA (should arrive this week) it's a great price for those looking to upgrade to conroe without paying silly Mobo prices. By christmas there will probably be quite a few mid-range conroe cards out there.

I'm surprised OC don't stock them yet as there are plenty of non clockers out there who read these boards regularly.
