Intel Could Make Nvidia GPUs (In Case Of Emergency)

Apparently NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has been talking with Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger to discuss the possibility that the team blue fabricate green GPUs "in case of emergency".

“I'm not saying this just to generate extra Hype… people should understand that NVIDIA and Intel are not going to turn around and let TSMC combine with AMD to crush everyone; or for TSMC to combine with Apple to do the same, ” said Tom.

“If TSMC starts to dominate too much, NVIDIA will see what it can do to team up with Intel, and vice versa. It is not just AMD or TSMC, it is also Apple - these companies are preparing for great wars with these architectures, and they find allies if one of them becomes too powerful, "he said.

TSMC will continue to dominate the industry for years to come, as it will make a significant leap with its 5nm with Apple as its largest customer. The Cupertino giant has reportedly already secured 50% of TSMC's 5nm production capacity by 2021, aiming to use these advanced chips in its upcoming iPhone, iPad and Mac.

NVIDIA was forced to use the node 8Nm of Samsung for their GPUs Ampere, while TSMC became increasingly closer to other manufacturers such as AMD (including Microsoft and Sony, among others), Apple, Qualcomm, etc. . So NVIDIA would be looking to hit the table so as not to be left behind. However, NVIDIA would catch up on this with the arrival of Samsung's 5nm , which should be used in NVIDIA's upcoming "Ampere Next" GPUs expected in 2022.

This is bad news if it means less capacity for Intel Xe.

Well, perhaps, but I don't think the Intel GPU's are really targetting Nvidia 3060 Ti upwards ...they seem to slot into the lower end of the market from what I have seen, although in all honesty I haven't exactly read everything I could get my hands on about them. I know the lower end of the market is important to a lot of people, but I suspect most people following he GPU market on these forums probably don't really care about it though, I think most people here are interested in 3060Ti peroformance or better and I haven't seen anything to suggest Intel are going to bring that, what I have seen to date seems to suggest the top of the line Intel GPU may offer performance roughly inline with a 3060 ...which to me at least is fairly uninteresting as I've been able to do that since 2017 with a 1080Ti.

I have a feeling That's Lower market below 3060ti is bigger That upper market in units.

If some one made a reasonable Price for 200$ it would sell more then the rest cards combined.

Intel can't even make their own CPUs in decent numbers. I suppose they're probably not selling well so maybe fab capacity is going spare.

It was probably some leak at a family BBQ where the Intel boss who was invited was in Jensens kitchen shooting the breeze over a bottle of bud and they got a bit drunk and came up with a ludicrous idea. Someone overheard and leaked it online.
So dont forget in the next Jensen kitchen video look out for the Nvidia boxes which say "Made by Intel" on them.
