From chatting it appears that the new Core 2 Duo's that are the "penryn" type[e are the ones to go for.
from looking at wikipedia the following coming out in early Jan are definately penryn
Core 2 Duo T8100
Core 2 Duo T8300
Core 2 Duo T9300
Core 2 Duo T9500
However it is unclear whether the following chips are Penryn as they are not stated as being - however are Socket P
Core 2 Duo T7500
Core 2 Duo T7700
Core 2 Duo T7800
