hi

im getting the intel E6300 cpu but was wondering do i need an extra cooler with it as i know it comes with the standard one in the box?

should i also get an artic freezer 7 pro ?

cheers

cheers, i might get that sometime if i do overclock

im building a new pc , just one thing do i need to buy a card reader if im to be able to fit usb e.g

or do the cases come with all that?

thanks

it depends on the case i think. i just picked up the Akasa Mirage 62 and it really is a bare case and all the better for it. no powersupply, no fans and only 2 USB ports on the front. the ONLY thing i would have liked to see would have been quick release drive rails and a headphone jack on the front with the USBs.

as for a cooler, i decided to get the Zalman 9700 for my D820 which will be used on my C2D as and when i get it.

hi

if i got the E6300 cpu - retail with the standard cooler would i be wasting money if i also got an artic freezer 7 pro cooler or would they both be used in my system?

or is it a simple case of swaping them round?

cheers

I have the Zalman 9700 on my C2D 6300 and it's doing well. Have my 6300 stable @ 3ghz with temps of 48-51c full load with Orthos, but that's with the fan on the lowest speed.

hi

is the standard cooler that comes with the retail intel core duos ok

im not planing on overclocking straight away but if i decided too would i need to get a better cooler?

cheers

I've got three - two work well and one doesn't. I don't think they travel that well.

You need a better one for overclocking. If you're even thinking about it, get a better cooler straight away to save swapping it later.

thats great to know :) i ordered my 6300 about 30 mins ago so once i have put it in and tested it i'll probably take it out again, lap it and see any differences.
