Intel E6750 2.66GHz overclocking help

Hi iam interested in overclocking my current desktop a little
If possible would like to overclock up to 3.0GHz
Ive never done this before so not really sure if i should try this so wanted to get some feed back from you guys/girls

my current spec is this
Intel core 2 duo E6750
NVidia GeForce 8800GT
RAM 4095

if someone could advice me if this can be overclocked or not this would be good

Overclock

My desktop pc is in for repair at the moment and not really sure what's inside
When I get it back I will post details
What I do know is this

Intel 2 core duo E6750 2.66GHz
Nvidia 6800GT
4 GB ram
Vista 64bit

Ok just found out full spec

Coolermaster elite 330 460w
Coasair 2GB (2x1GB)
Intel 2 core duo E6750 2.66GHz
Western digital WD5000 AAKS 500GB
Asus P5K series ip35
Inno 3D 8800GT

So if possible would like to overclock this but not sure how much this can be overclocked

good guide

if you just have stock cooling, you should be able to reach 3.0GHz or even a little higher, i have seen some at 3.4GHz and higher.
But you would need a proper cooler for that.
Max temp, i wouldn't let it go higher than 75-80c iirc.
max voltage is 1.5v
