Hi, I didnt know if this would be in laptops, cpu or graphics card section.

I have i5 2430M on my laptop with built in gpu. The dedicated RAM is 64mb but goes upto 1.6GB.

I'm playing GW2 quite a lot and wouldnt mind being able to have the textures on etc, but I cannot find how/if I can increase the amount of ram it can tap into.

No options in the bios for it either..and I cant find any software installed when I bought the laptop to turn on turbo speed for 24/7 use.

Any ideas?

As far as I know it alters dependant on the situation automatically... but I may be wrong.

It's not the RAM that increases, it's the CPU frequency.

Ah ha! So it is RAM like he said, but it uses some of the system RAM for graphics power! Today I learnt :p

Yeah, it's integrated graphics. It steals system memory to use as the framebuffer. A discrete graphics card would have it's own dedicated RAM.

Probably not if it's like that. There's only so much a HD 3000 can do anyway, it's not really a gaming GPU. I don't think it even properly meets the minimum requirement for GW2...
