I know this thread is older but I want ask something about Overclocking Intel 2500k.

CPU INTEL i5 2500k 3.30Ghz - Boost 3.60Ghz

- I will purchase Cooler Master Hyper 212 Red LED
-
I can overclock with this cooler?
- How I can safe overclock?
- What is the best speed so I can overclock without damage CPU?

Best regards,

Hi, the hyper evo will be fine and you should be able to reach 4.5 with that cooler, overclocking is never 100% safe but try to keep vcore under 1.4 and temps under 75c and it should be fine.

Thank you friend. You can send me here tutorial how I can overclock? I know that some in BIOS, but I want be sure and follow tutorial. This is my first time overclock :)

My 2500k went to 4.2GHz by just changing the multiplier. Didn't even need a voltage tweak or anything and has been sold for four years now.

It’s easy, set multiply to 40 Stock bolts and bench if stable increase to 42 until you get to 45, you might have to give it some volts 0.100v at a time but Don’t go above 1.3v.
I got 4.5 at around 1.2v, 4.7@ 1.35v and a lot of heat.

There used to be a sticky in the cpu sub forum
