Hi guys,

I've got a asrock z68 extreme 4 gen3 coupled with an intel i5 2500k processor.

I've tried to OC it using the asrock turbo utility and it overclocks to 4.6 and boots fine. The only problem is in windows it only shows the CPU's stock settings 3.30 and not 4.6.

Anyone help me?

Only the most recent Speedfan will work with the new Z68 boards, I had a similar problem with it not recognising other things on the board.

You may have it overclocked but the intel technology will only o/c the cpu when its actually needed mine is exactly the same. Use your pc as normal and then hammer it you will see the cpu fluctuate on demand.

This. You're processor will run at stock until it's under load and then the frequency will increase to cope with demand. Use CPU-Z and then run Prime95, you should see the frequency ramp up. Keep an eye on the voltage also, my asrock board loads 1.44v at 4.5 when set at auto, which is way too much. I manually set it it 1.32 and it runs fine.

Thanks guys im going to try an "intelburntest" tonight then when i go to work tomorrow set it on prime95 for 8 or so hours.

For dual channel operation put the RAM in the 1st ant the 3rd slots or in the 2nd and the 4th slots.

For 1866MHz change DRAM Frequency in the BIOS from auto to 1866MHz. You may also need to input the timings and voltage manually. Or load the appropriate XMP profile if your RAM supports it.
