The Mac mini looks reasonably priced compared to a PC which is even more hideously overpriced than it is.. but it is still very overpriced compared to PCs of comparable spec and performance. That's the good thing about PCs: there is plenty of competition to keep downward pressure on prices. Also you can build your own. If you want a Mac, you gotta buy it from Apple.

Haven't Mac's always been like that though? The whole point of the Mac-Mini, or so I thought, was that it was a cheaper Mac for the masses like the iPod crowd?

Yes, but cheapER can still be damn expensive where Macs are concerned

But they dont give you the 512mb stick already included in the price which is probably worth about £40, so your not saving anything
