Just got a Crucial M224 64GB SSD, reverted back to the microsoft AHCI drivers (restored a backup from before IMS was installed ).

Every thing works fine with the SSD but now Ive got problems with my hot swap ability where as it was fine with the IMS drivers installed.

So the sensible option would be to re-install the IMS, but the question is do the IMS drivers support TRIM ?

I`m also wondering when Intel are finally gonna update their controller drivers built into the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility to support TRIM???

No the IMS drivers don't support in built windows trim, you have to use Intel SSD Tool Box on a schedule to trim it for you.

The Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology" (RST) is the successor of the "Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager" (MSM), which will not be updated anymore.

The new New Intel RST drivers v9.5.6.1001 available via (station drivers) although its a Intel Leak as not official on their site yet.

Trim although I dont think avalible in this version will be coming on later releases.

Both the same thread :) but thanks for the link.

From reading, there's a possibility the RST driver may already support TRIM in AHCI mode, but not really confirmed anywhere.
And being as there is no real definitive way of testing whether its working, I think its best to wait for official conformation.
