Hi,

I am having some issues with a friends RAID 5 setup.

Port 2 Hard Drive started to say the hard drive had failed and so I put in a new hard drive and rebuilt the RAID etc.

All is fine, until it then started to say the new hard drive has failed. So I again put in a new hard and rebuilt.

No it is doing it again. Any ideas? Could it be the port / cable?

I have also installed the latest software release. Any ideas?

Try a different cable first, if that doesnt produce a result then try a different port. I doubt a drive would fail in the same way that quickly (possible but unlikely). So it is probably the cable or the port. Check your boards Bios is up to date as well.

Check for a firmware update for the hard drive too.
