It has been a long , long time since I have had a half decent Intel CPU , I have always had to make do with AMD's offerings .
However I had managed to get a 7700 CPU ( non K ) along with a Z170 Gigabyte Motherboard . I have only once played with turbo settings for such 'non K' variants ( versus my countless hours sweating out 20% performance gains with AMD ) on a Friends Alienware R4
However now I have my own 7700 and Z170 to play around with , my idea - if possible is to have the chip running up to 4.2 where needed or kept statically boosted at 4.2
It seems when left on auto , the CPU speed , when under load goes to 4.0 and only occasionally sees 4.15 . Below/attached is an image of the settings that I am believe control the turbo behaviour . Can anyone mention which of these I have done wrong or need to change ?
