For 90nm pentium 4's you can have any socket 775 mainboard tbh, its the pentium D and core 2 duo and 65nm pentiums that may need a perticular chipset, but 90nm pentiums work on any lga775 mobo...

Asrock ConRoeXFire-eSATA2, ddr+ddr2, onboard lan&sound, pci-e & agp, support for all known lga 775 cpu's exept quad core...

EDIT: i meant the Asrock 775Dual-VSTA not conroexfire, my apologies!! :(

Sounds excellent..does the asrock support standard ddr400 memory though...i know it supports the later memory but is backward compatable?

I think you're confusing that board with the vsata. The board you mentioned does not do DDR or AGP.

You would need the ASRock Dual 880Pro (or the Dual VSTA which is pretty much the same motherboard it appears but does support Conroe) if you want to use DDR Ram, the Conroe XFire motherboard as mentioned won't work as it is based on the 945 chipset and only supports DDR2 according to the ASRock website. The Dual 8800Pro doesn't appear to support Conroe though and no mention is made of a bios flash to allow it to so you probably can't upgrade it that far. :)

Thanks all for help...can't find the asrock though.
been looking into a little deeper and wondered if this would suit me?
Asus P5GPL-X SE Intel 915PL (Socket 775) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-128-AS)
is the 915pl chipset ok?

Well its ok for a pentium, but you'll need a mainboard upgrade if you would want to go core 2 duo later...

Really shame ocuk dont have asrock dual vsta in stock, great budget socket 775 board...
