Intel/Nvidia Optimus What to expect?

I'm not a savvy Linux user but I have just ordered a new gaming laptop (Zephyrus S GX502GW) for work and would prefer to install Manjaro or similar distro instead of Windows when it arrives.

At the time I didn't consider compatibility in Linux with Optimus so i'm hoping some of you more linux savvy chaps could offer some insight as to what I can expect, will this work well or not at all?

I don't use it myself. But I recall reading that Pop!_OS is setup well for Optimus, because System 76 sell laptops with it.
