Intel P4 Socket 478 CPU Overclocking

The old 478 Northwood 3.06 ive just removed from my old machine had been running 3.4GHz with no problems for about 4 years.

Ocassionally id try to get it a little higher but end up with system hangs eventually.

Been a damn good chip that has! Just a shame the FSB was a little 'outdated'

Out of interest, how good is performance on your cpu? pcmark04/05 score or 3dmark 05/06 cpu score please ? ;)

Didnt know them 478 chips had so many juice in em, I know higher rev. 65nm scots for lga775 can reach 7 + ghz on mach2, but never seen a 478 scott that high...

My oc limit was 4.0 ghz on both my old 3.0 scott, and old s478 3.4 scott, mainly due to to high temps, mine were 72 C on load :( , as said above though, that was on a zalman 7000-alcu.
