INTEL P67 MOTHERBOARDS AVAILABLE TO ORDER NOW - NDA IS LIFTED ON 3RD PARTY MOTHERBOARDS ONLY - WE HA

The main problem is memory capacity. With tri-channel you can fairly cheaply get a 24GB system running. But with only dual channel and 4 slots, to get that same memory capacity you will need to buy 6 to 8GB modules. Which I don't think even exist yet and when they do will surely be very very expensive.

Board Design/Looks +1
Board Prices -1
Gigabyte -1000!

Was hoping an SLI board would come sub £125 but guess the MSI GD55 is going to be my best bet!

Where are all the tri-channel boards? Seems a bit of a downgrade from i7 of today?

I don't THINK tri-channel is supported on sandy bridge, i think they left that for the x58 and it's sucessor, this platform is supposed to be mainstream.

I think most P67 boards can support 32GB of RAM therefore 4x 8GB DDR3 but the price for those would be sky high atm and by the time they are priced reasonably ddr4 might be out.

Nehalm i7 on socket LGA1366 is Tri-Channel, but Sandy Bridge i7 on socket LGA1155 is Dual Channel.

For Tri-Channel Sandy Bridge we're gonna have to wait for socket LGA2011 later in the year.

Seems like a step backward IMHO, and that's why I'm gonna hold off on Sandy Bridge until LGA2011.

You know no ones bothered saying it but what is the point of lifting the nda and selling motherboards to people when they can't buy cpus to put in them :)

Hey,

Will prices be coming down as stock comes in at all? They aren't currently the greatest by a few quid? Want to order from ocuk for a friend as the ram prices are goooooooood since gibbo got the geil stuff back in :)

actually, i'm pretty sure S2011 is quad channel & not tri channel

Can I just get confirmation - you can't use the CPU's onboard graphics with the new overclocked bundles?

Thanks, Martin
