No idea how SK Hynix and Samsung slow down will impact these prices, it would be a sorry state is the more regular 2400MHz 16G kits get back up towards around £200 like they were around six months ago and the 8G kits close to £100. :(

But for now OcUK have thousands in stock, the pricing is fantastic compared to where others are at. :)

It must be hurting sales as I know a lot of people who are holding off upgrading just because of RAM prices.

Sales are fantastic, the prices are now are vastly lower than they were a few months ago so if anything sales are increasing but have been strong now, lets just say this were up year on year on memory sales. :)

Fair enough. I suppose some people don't have the luxury of waiting. Hopefully the downward trend continues.

I’ll be a be of those people.

I don’t mind spending money on something I really want and have a healthy amount sat aside waiting, but I won’t be paying over the odds, I’ll wait it out if I have to.

Prices now are bette than they were but still higher than they should be.

After prices were hiked on HDDs they never went back down to where they should have been pre hike. Seems to be a trend in PC component market. :(

Dunno you can get 3TB for under £60 now, you have to remember inflation is also here, GPU's are stupidly expensive right now but that's just the nVidia tax with no competition, AMD have helped with making CPU's nice and cheap.

I still remember the good ol days in 2011-2013 when you could grab 16GB of decent DDR3 for £39.99! Now for DDR4 it's £120 at least for something decent in a sale. Once RAM pricing has stopped being inflated along with GPU's the market will be great.

How is £20 for a TB of drive space expensive?

I suspect Cita8 is talking about AMD processors rather than hard disk prices. Recently I picked up a Threadripper 1920x for £350 which I would regard as cheap for a 12 core machine which will allow my to install something I never thought I could virtualize on a single machine before..

I'm not saying that prices of HDDs are bad these days. They are what they are. But the prices were falling and year on year spinning storage was getting cheaper per gb. Then after Thailand that trend seemed to slow to the point where lately it has almost stopped.

Prices can only fall so far, those factories have to be dust proof, hire people to make them and develop even better HDD tech to stay relevant to the flash drives, with that you can't expect them to drop much further, we also don't want cheap unreliable drives. I'd like to be able to buy them for £10/TB but I'm not too displeased with current pricing considering everything.

How long before the RAM manufacturers are fined for price fixing, again? They're being investigated last I heard. It seems to be endemic in the electronics industry. There were hefty fines for LCD TV price fixing. Asus, Denon & Marantz, Philips and Pioneer were fined $130,000,000 for fixing online electronics prices.

Still lots of people on here that think this kind of thing doesn't happen...all companies are the same just trying to make a profit etc ;)
