Intel PROSet - is it needed?

Hey guys,

Just recieved my new dell laptop and I've been uninstalling all the crap it comes with. Just wanted to know whether I need intel PROset software or not?

I presume you have an Intel WLAN NIC?

I find ProSet much better for managing WLAN profiles than the built in XP applets, but then I connect to all manner of WLANs for work.

I dont have it installed on my Dell laptop, the windows software seems to do a decent job.

using the uninstall feature usually removes driver as well btw

Yep - use the modify options and just chose to not install the software, but keep the driver.

It's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other really, they both perform equally as well at doing the task at hand, however if you're relativly picky about memory usage then it would probably be better to uninstall the Proset software and use the windows zero wireless config instead.
