Intel ProSet Wireless problem

I have a Dell XPS M1710 laptop and have recently started having problems with my wifi connection. It disconnects from the wifi connection on a fairly regular basis and I have to reboot to reconnect.

I have tried updating both the wifi drivers and also the Intel Proset connection software but still get the same. I'm starting to think it might be hardware - anyone had this problem or know of a fix???
 
Why are you using the ProSet software? First off I'd say just use the Windows software with the Intel drivers.

If that still doesn't work, try a replacement
 
+1 about the ProSet software, the Windows WZC does a reasonable enough job on it's own.

Have you rules out the router as being the problem? Do you have any other wireless devices connected and do they behave OK?
 
Yeah have another laptop and netbook and my ps3 all running wireless with no problems. I have tried the windows software but get the same problem.
