What are these for? Any reason to install them? Im running an ssd on sata 2 H61 board.

Yes mate. Just installed them. Not noticed any difference bar a bit of software running in the toolbar.

I installed it, as that was the advice, for my mobo, when i moved my os to my ssd.
It is possible that your newer mobo had something similar already within its chipset.
Someone wiser will hopefully let us know.

I thought they were necessary for features such as trim and longterm drive life and management.
