intel rapid storage drivers or not ?

So I have a lone crucial m4 all I have done is installed the chipset drivers am i supposed to be installing intel rapid storage drivers ? if so which version ?
getting confused here i thought IRST was for raid setups only ?

I have Intel rapid storage drivers running on my Samsung 830, but used the ones attached to my motherboard driver install DVD.

Intel have the latest ones on their website, although they're dated from December 2011 I think.

yes but aren't those included in the chipset inf one installs ? i tried to install the rst just now and it said it has detected you are running a newer version ?

Okay I enabled achi in bios msi p55 gd 80 then i installed windows then i installed the latest chipset inf windows updates and all the other drivers etc

I am supposed to be manually installing intel rapid storage drivers on top of this ?
