Dear fellow OCUK'ers

My current motherboard Gigabyte X79-up4 has the following SATA ports:

2x Intel SATA 3 ports.
4x Intel SATA 2 Ports

Marvell Controller with 4 x SATA 3 Ports (Chipset: 88SE9172)

I am using one Intel SATA 3 for my boot drive and the other for my active virtual machines.

I have another SSD used purely for my template Virtual Machines, the choice I have to make is do I use an Intel SATA 2 port or a Marvell SATA 3 port?

These are the CrystalDiskMark 5 results with the disk on each different port:

Marvell SATA3

Intel SATA2

based on the above results and the scenario that the disk is only used for hosting Virtual machine templates.

What port would you opt for Marvell SATA3 or Intel SATA2?

Thanks

P
